Idaho Modern Presents Modern Masters: The Eames House
Idaho Modern‘s signature event Modern Masters returned for a sixth year on Saturday, April 1st, 2017. The organization and Herman Miller hosted Lucia Dewey Atwood, director of the Eames Foundation and granddaughter of Charles and Ray Eames, who spoke about her work with the Getty Center and the Foundation to conserve and preserve the Eames house and landscape, also known as Case Study House No. 8.
The event included a social hour and two-hour presentation on the on-going historic preservation of the Eames house, a landmark of mid-20th century modern architecture located in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles, designed and constructed in 1949 by husband and wife Charles and Ray Eames to serve as their home and studio.
