The Idaho Energy Code and International Energy Conservation Code have undergone changes in recent years causing some confusion, contradiction and a perception of added project costs.

This Thursday, the Idaho Chapter of Construction Specifications Institute and the American Institute of Architects, Idaho Central Section will host a one-day seminar beginning with an overview of the changes as they have taken effect in Idaho and ending with the reality of field inspections today.

Presenters include:

Jerry Peterson, Energy Program Manager at Idaho Division of Building Safety, will give an overview of IEC now and what’s coming next.

Joseph Joslin, AIA Allied, RCI, CSI, CDT, Business Development Leader, will discuss exterior wall fire testing, design and compliance and how they relate to IEC.

Eric E. Richman, Senior Research Engineer with the Energy Division of Pacific Northwest National Laboratory will talk about Building Lighting and the IECC and Commercial Lighting Code.

Ingo Stroup, President and CEO of Building Energy Incorporated will discuss The Home Energy Rating System (HERS) and the reality of field inspections.
